It was decided at a committee meeting in December 1999 that we hold a function to commemorate our first 25 years and to select a team from the players who played during that period. The team would be selected by three stalwarts of the club, Bruce Sykes, Mick Streiff and Garry Nolan. The selection criteria was that each player had to have played a minimum of 20 first XI games.

The selection panel spent a number of hours selecting the team. More than half of the team were unanimous selections with the rest being a little more difficult to finalise. The most contentious positions were the wicketkeeper, all rounder, spinner and 12th man.

This culminated with a function held on Saturday 3rd February 2001 at the clubrooms. Past players were contacted and invited to come along and share in this historic occasion. Unfortunately some past players could not be contacted or were unable to attend on the night. Some had to be coaxed to come along. The night was a huge success with many stories being re-lived and enjoyed by those present.
